About the Board of Directors
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) Florida Section Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Changing Lives Through Tennis. The USTA Florida Section Foundation is governed by a member-elected Board of Directors. The board is responsible for the charitable fund disbursement to qualified entities in Florida. They serve as the official charitable arm of USTA Florida, which also manages Play Tennis Gainesville, Racquet Club of Cocoa Beach, and the Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center.
The volunteer-based board produces their own Strategic Plan and is a ten-member experienced professionals who are nominated and elected from USTA members. The Board of Directors come from diverse backgrounds, including people who serve as presidents of tennis organizations, charitable organizations, and other industries. Members of the board provide a wealth of knowledge and passion for growing the game of tennis. Most importantly, they serve as the heart of the organization responsible for helping people across the state of Florida.
Who We Serve
The Foundation provides grant opportunities that go toward funding youth tennis, adaptive tennis programs, community tennis in economically challenged areas, and facility improvement projects. The board is also responsible for directing financial assistance to after-school and physical education programs that serve at-risk and special populations. The board also helps provide program grants for underprivileged youth and adult communities. That includes the renovation, refurbishment, and construction of quality public tennis facilities that provide tennis programming and instruction.
